A day with Madam President

June 5th, a busy day at the Istana. President Halima had at least four events to attend that day.

Photojournalist from the The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao were waiting in the lobby early in the morning for the arrival of the President. I was particularly nervous that day, having prepared more equipment than usual for the day's shoot. Although there were four events scheduled, there was only one opportunity to capture each moment.

As the ADC (Aide-de-Camp to the President) and butler opened the door, we instinctively picked up our cameras to begin recording every moment of Madam President.

The impression that the President gave to people was one of dignity and grace. However, during a brief conversation with members of the Council for Board Diversity, President Halima laughed several times. These smiles gradually eased the tension among the journalists during the shooting process.

After some small talk, Halima walked into another hall, ready to meet with the council. This marked the beginning of a busy day's schedule.

Istana is a place where all President conduct their official duties, and Halima has left her mark in every corner of it.
